FIP-4630A FLSE Educator Level I
This certification-related Fire and Life Safety Education (FLSE) course covers the basics of fire and life safety and is the first of three FLSE levels. Students will be introduced to injuries that occur in North Carolina and programs that are designed to prevent these injuries. Students will also discuss the mission of their organizations and the responsibility of prevention education, to include using correct/current fire & life safety educational messages and the role of the Fire & Life Safety Educator. This class is designed to give firefighters and fire & life safety educators ideas and confidence to teach fire safety to all ages. Students will participate in fire safety lessons and teach a safety lesson plans that they can use at their own fire department. This course is designed to show fire investigators, fire protection officials, fire inspectors, attorneys and insurance agents the common origins and causes of commercial kitchen system fires. It has been approved by The North Carolina Building Code council for 6 hours of continuing education in either Fire Prevention, Building or Mechanical code disciplines. This will be 3 hours of classroom work to cover the tools and equipment used and 16 hours of hands-on training utilizing 50+ vehicles that can cut and lifted to meet the objectives.
