Workshops
How to Apply: 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21 (in person in the Transfer Center, Phillips 3-126), or Wednesday, January 22 via Zoom (e-mail transfercenter@durhamtech.edu for the link to join). During this workshop, we’ll talk about the nuts and bolts of applying via the Transfer Common App and how to write strong application essays for both transfer admissions and scholarships.
Make a Plan Workshop for NEW(ish) Transfer Students via Zoom on Tuesday, January 28, at 4:00 p.m.. Getting into the transfer university of your choice involves having a plan from the beginning of your time here at Durham Tech, so I hope you will all join me at this Make a Plan workshop. Get tips on how to gain admission to the transfer university of your choice. We’ll talk about guaranteed admissions pathways for new transfer students headed to NC Central, UNC Wilmington, East Carolina, NC A&T, NC State, or UNC-Chapel Hill, how to select the right school for you, and what the minimum or average GPA each school requires. Drop-In and Apply on Tuesday, January 28, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2:30 - 4:30 p.m., or Wednesday, February 5, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.. Come work on your applications in the Transfer Center (Phillips 3-126) while Transfer Center staff are there to help and answer questions. Bring a laptop or use our computers.
Paying for the Bachelor’s Degree on Thursday, January 30, at 4:00 p.m. via Zoom (e-mail transfercenter@durhamtech.edu for the link to join). Learn how to reduce the cost of the bachelor’s degree and how financial aid will work at a four-year university.
Transfer Planning for All Immigration Statuses on Wednesday, February 12, at 4:00 p.m. via Zoom (e-mail transfercenter@durhamtech.edu for the link to join). This workshop is designed especially for Durham Tech's non-US citizen/International students who plan to transfer. We’ll talk about transfer universities, resources, and scholarships for students not able to apply for federal financial aid.
C-STEP/C-3 Information Sessions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4; Wednesday, February 19; Monday, March 3; or Thursday, March 20 via Zoom (e-mail transfercenter@durhamtech.edu for the link to join). Please join us to learn more about C-STEP, our guaranteed admissions pathway to UNC-Chapel Hill, and C3, our guaranteed admissions pathway to NC State.

Colleges Visit for Durham Tech Spring Fling
Many colleges and universities will join us for Spring Fling, our annual outdoor celebration, on Wednesday, April 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Main Campus Plaza. Stop by to ask transfer questions and learn more about our partner colleges and universities.
UNC System Virtual Transfer Fair
The UNC System Virtual Transfer Fair, Tuesday, January 28, through Thursday, January 30, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m., is designed to provide prospective transfer students the opportunity to gain transfer-specific information from each UNC System university as well as connect attendees directly with representatives from each institution. Appalachian State University
Meet admissions representative Kristi Leff to learn more about Appalachian State programs and transfer processes on Monday, February 10, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the Collins (Building 2) Foyer.
NC A&T State University
Thinking about Transferring to NC A&T? Transfer Admissions representative Charles McDuffie will visit Durham Tech on Tuesdays, February 4, March 4, and April 1 between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the Collins (Building 2) Foyer. Ask him about Aggie Plus, our guaranteed admissions pathway to NC A&T.
NC State University
Community College Collaboration, C3, our guaranteed admissions pathway to NC State, holds virtual information sessions every other week. Click here to register.
UNC Greensboro
Come learn more about transferring to UNC Greensboro and our partnership with Spartan Promise on Tuesdays, February 12, and February 25. UNC Greensboro Admissions representative Karen DeLapp will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Collins (Building 2) Foyer to answer your questions.
UNC Wilmington
Come learn more about UNCW’s programs, the application process, and PathWays, our guaranteed admissions pathway to UNCW. Transfer admissions representative Molly Holbrook will be in the Collins (Building 2) Foyer between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27.
Join UNC Wilmington transfer admissions representatives for Coffee with a Coach on Tuesday, March 18, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the Collins Building 2 Foyer. They will bring free coffee and goodies to share and have representatives from across UNCW’s campus to help with any transfer questions.
Western Carolina University
