Durham Tech Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association is the collaborative, legislative student voice of student advocacy, experiences, and changes for the betterment of the Durham Tech experience. Durham Tech’s SGA is designed to give students the opportunity to gain interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. Students navigate their leadership as champions for vision, community, social advocacy, service, and scholarship through transformative and experiential opportunities. With a dedication to reflection, empowerment, and growth, the SGA functions as a collaborative student partner with the college administration, professional faculty, and staff, as well as the liaisons for the student body.

The SGA meets monthly to discuss student concerns that affect their experience during their time at the college. They work as the student liaisons to improve the Durham Tech activities and procedures that impact the student body. The SGA advocates for a positive experience with student life and works collaboratively with the Department of Student Enrichment and college administration to foster change, growth, and the betterment of students as they strive to “Do Great Things.” during their Durham Tech journey.
