Research Assistance

Durham Tech librarians created a series of short video tutorials to help students utilize library resources.

Introduction to the Library

Search the Library

Academic Integrity & Plagiarism Tutorial

The Academic Integrity & Plagiarism Tutorial is self-paced and has eight lessons, divided into smaller sections. After completing these lessons, you should be able to describe in your own words what academic integrity, academic dishonesty, and plagiarism mean; explain unintentional plagiarism, self-plagiarism and how procrastination can lead to plagiarism; tell the difference between common knowledge and "expert" knowledge, understand how to cite, quote, paraphrase, and more.

At the end of all the lessons, there is a short assessment in which you can demonstrate what you have learned. When you score at least 80 points (out of 100) on the final assessment, you can choose "Certification" on the menu to save or print your certificate.

If you need help using the tutorial, please contact the Center for Academic Excellence or the Library.
