Short Term

Durham Tech's Paramedic (Continuing Education) program is a certificate-only, one-year cohort (includes both class and clinical components), that will prepare students to enter the workforce and provide high-quality emergency medical care to critically ill and injured patients.

Graduates of this program will be eligible to take state and/or national certification examinations at the paramedic level. Employment opportunities include providers of emergency medical services, fire departments, rescue agencies, hospital specialty areas, as well as industry, educational and government agencies.

The program prepares students to become competent entry-level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains without exit points at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Emergency Medical Technician, and/or Emergency Medical Responder levels.
