Mental Health Technician (Continuing Education)

Short Term

The Mental Health Technician program provides introductory training for those entering the field of mental health services or as a refresher for those currently working within the mental health or behavioral health field. In addition, the course will offer basic to increased awareness and understanding of a holistic view to mental health care for nurses and other health care professionals. The course prepares students for a national certification as a Mental Health Technician. Textbook required.

Prerequisites

  • Must be at least 18 years old, and
  • Proof of High School Diploma or high school equivalency (unofficial transcript may be submitted)

This 96 hour course provides introductory training for those entering the field of mental health services or as a refresher for those currently working within the mental health or behavioral health field. The course prepares students for a national certification as a Mental Health Technician. Prerequisites: 1) Must be at least 18 years old, AND 2) High School Diploma or Equivalent.
