The world lost Dr. Phail Wynn Jr. in 2018 but his legacy in the Durham Tech Library is expanding regularly thanks to a generous donation from GlaxoSmithKline to establish the Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. Library Endowment. Here are some newly acquired titles from the collection. All books relate to one of the seven themes of the collection. Durham Tech Health and Wellness Instructor, Wilma Herndon, invites you to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day by participating in the Day of Reading event. Get a jump start on the Durham Tech Library 2020 Reading Challenge with one of these new books!

There is still time to check out one (or two or three or four!) of these new books to read over Thanksgiving Break. Books are a great conversation started at dinner and a great way to get some peace amidst the hectic Thanksgiving hubbub. We have SO MANY great new books that I can't include all of them. Some of the books not pictured are written by or about such notable people as Jackie Chan, Stan Lee, Harvey Milk, Malcolm Gladwell, Lois Lowry, Dapper Dan, and Edward Snowden. So come grab a book!

The end of 2019 is approaching so now is the time to look at what we've read and watched this year and determine the best of the best. We've chosen some of our favorite books and movies from our collection that we read or watched this year to highlight in a display inside the library. I'd like to give a shout out to one of my personal favorites from this year: Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men By Caroline Criado Perez This book made me angry on every page and I'm so glad

It's officially November! We've set our clocks back and retrieved our winter clothes from storage. Time to curl up with a book, a blanket, and your pet of choice. It's also eating season! Come by the library to see (and check out) all our beautiful cookbooks!

Are you participating in the library's Read Great Things Challenge 2019? Do you need suggestions for books about immigration? Here are some recent books, both nonfiction and fiction, that explore immigration and the immigrant and refugee experience. These are now available in the library collection.
