Translation and Evaluation Services
Translation
Translation of transcripts is appropriate when a student is seeking admission only to Durham Tech. For any possible transfer credit, a transcript must be evaluated by one of the evaluation services listed below this section.
When submitting a translation of a document, the English translation and the document in the original language must be submitted together. Original documents can be returned to the applicant after copied/scanned upon request.
Translators should be certified by the American Translators Association. For a complete list of members, visit www.atanet.org or the local chapter, Carolina Association of Translators and Interpreters at www.catiweb.org
Some local organizations include:
Global Translation Systems, Inc. |
Fluent Language Solutions |
CHICLE (Spanish & others) |
Bilingual Communications, Inc. |
Evaluation
Transcripts must be professionally evaluated by one of the services listed below, if transfer credit for any previous courses taken is desired. This includes college or university transcripts, and high school transcripts if prerequisite courses are needed. Evaluation of your transcript does not guarantee that Durham Tech will accept the credits. Ask for a “course by course” evaluation if seeking transfer credit.
Evaluation services should be members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. For a complete listing of members, visit www.naces.org
