Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Overview

Durham Technical Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is integral to the SACSCOC reaffirmation of accreditation process.

A Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a college-wide project that focuses on an issue the institution considers to be important to improving student learning outcomes and/or student success. The QEP is developed and implemented across a five-year period, after which outcomes are summarized in an impact report.

5 Essentials of a QEP: Topic (Topic identified through ongoing evaluation process), Broad Support (Broad-based support from stakeholders), Focus on student learning/success (focus on improving student learning outcomes and/or student success), Resources (resources committed to initiate, implement, and complete QEP), Assessment Plan (clear measures to assess achievement of the plan)

Durham Tech QEPs

Durham Tech’s last QEP (2016) was P3 Connect: Plan, Prepare, Proceed

The College is now in the process of selecting the topic for our next QEP by gathering feedback from all of our stakeholders. There are several ways to get involved and share your ideas, including:

  • Attending College Conversations
  • Participating in QEP small groups and forums happening across the college
  • Requesting to join a future QEP taskforce
  • Completing the QEP Topic Selection Feedback Survey

Download the Quality Enhancement Plan Overview (PDF) for additional information about the topic selection process, examples, and key terms.
