Statement by President J.B. Buxton on the Orange Board of County Commissioners’ approval of the 2023-24 budget

Orange County’s 2023-24 budget demonstrates a strong commitment to public higher education and workforce development. Commissioners continued their commitment to the Durham Tech Promise scholarship for graduating high school students and doubled down on their commitment to workforce training scholarships for adult learners.

In addition to student scholarships, this budget provides critical resources to increase small business services, start new apprenticeship opportunities, and assist the College to attract and retain the best faculty and staff for our students.
