Statement by Durham Tech President J.B. Buxton on the Durham Board of County Commissioners’ approval of the 2023-24 Budget

Durham County’s 2023-24 budget is another example that our County Commissioners and staff leadership don’t just talk the talk, they walk the walk. This budget demonstrates a clear commitment to public education, economic development, and economic opportunity.

For Durham Tech, the budget makes bold investments to connect our students to great jobs and our employers to great talent. It provides the College with critical resources to ensure access and affordability through student scholarships, increase small business services, and support apprenticeships and job placement in growing industries. Further, it invests in a new effort to ensure Durham Tech can attract and retain the best faculty and staff for our students.
