Durham Tech requires daily check-in for all students, employees
Any individual coming to a Durham Tech campus or location will now be required to complete a daily check-in form to confirm that they and anyone whom they have been in close contact with is free of COVID-19 symptoms.
The form, a part of the College’s Phase 2.5 for College Operations, should be completed immediately prior to coming to campus each day. The form is available in both English and Spanish.
Individuals will be given a daily “codeword” to confirm their completion of the form. They may be asked by their instructor(s), supervisor, or a security officer to give this codeword when entering a building or classroom on campus to verify their check-in completion.
Individuals will be asked to indicate which building they are visiting on the check-in form. If they are visiting multiple buildings on campus, or leave and return to campus during the day, they will not need to complete the form again.
“We will continue to find the optimal balance among safety, equity, and access as we refine our COVID-19 operations,” said Tom Jaynes, Executive Vice President at Durham Tech. “To keep that balance, we expect our college community to check in on their health and well-being every day, prior to visiting our campus. This will further protect the safety of all.”
To support this change, the College will implement some additional changes, including signage and personnel to assist with this process at some designated buildings. The College also will have additional check-in stations with computers at designated areas, should someone not have the appropriate technology to complete check-in prior to coming to campus.
Employees are also required to use the Campus Access Scheduling System to notify the College what days they are planning to come to campus.
