The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) has awarded Durham Tech with the Distinguished Registered Respiratory Therapist Credentialing Success Award for a second consecutive year.

Janemarie Baker, Director of the Respiratory Therapy program, was notified last month.

“This award is a great indicator of the professionalism of our graduates and how well prepared they are to provide a high level of Respiratory Care to patients upon graduation,” Baker said. “Registered Respiratory Therapists are the preferred choice when hospitals are considering a candidate for an open position, so the success our graduates have had achieving this credential positions them well when seeking employment.”

According to the CoARC, this award demonstrates a program’s success in inspiring its graduates to achieve their highest educational and professional aspirations. The primary responsibility of the CoARC is to accredit programs based on their compliance with established accreditation standards.

“The instructors in this program recognize this achievement and what it represents, but more importantly we are extremely proud to have produced graduates who are prepared to serve the community and provide exceptional care,” Baker said.
