Durham Tech Chief Academic Officer to chair NCCCS Curriculum Course Review Committee
Durham Tech Vice President and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Kara Battle has been appointed Chair of the North Carolina Community College System Curriculum Course Review Committee.
Her term runs from August 2024 through June 2027.
“Dr. Battle’s extensive experience and demonstrated commitment to academic excellence make her an ideal choice for this leadership role,” system NCCCS Vice President and Chief Academic Officer Brian S. Merritt said in making the announcement.
Battle’s responsibilities as Chair include overseeing the committee’s activities to ensure alignment with the strategic goals of the North Carolina Community College System. A vital part of her role will be facilitating effective communication and collaboration among committee members and other stakeholders to foster an inclusive and dynamic curriculum review and approval process.
“I am honored to be selected to chair the Curriculum Course Review Committee,” Battle said. “I am looking forward to the work we will be doing and how we can best serve students and the community college system.”
