In November 1997, Main Campus grew by one more building.
The Durham Tech/GlaxoWellcome Technology Center opened its doors to serve students in healthcare programs. That same year, the Durham Tech Foundation received its largest gift to date -- $500,000 from GlaxoSmithKline to outfit the building with equipment needed for programs.
Among the programs first housed in the building were Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Pharmacy Tech, Surgical Tech, and Information Technology.
