Free Tax Preparation

Durham Tech is holding two tax days exclusively for the Durham Tech community to utilize TaxSlayer software to complete and e-file your federal and state returns for FREE! IRS-certified volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you have as you prepare your personal taxes. All tax prep services are free of charge and open to the public.

Who qualifies: All low/moderate income taxpayers (less than $55,000 per year)

You must bring:

• Social Security cards for you, your spouse, and all dependents
• Last year’s tax returns
• Photo identification
• Form 1095-A for insurance purchases through the Market Place
• Any tax forms or other information received from the IRS
• Wage and earnings statement forms W-2, W-2G, and 1099-R
• Interest, dividend, tuition, and mortgage forms 1099 and 1098
• Childcare provider information
• Birthdates for you, your spouse, and all dependents
• Bank routing numbers and account numbers for direct deposit
   

Can't make this date? IRS-certified volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you have and help you file your taxes for free!

Prefer to do your own taxes? You can also choose to complete your own taxes and file them for free using TaxSlayer software to e-file your federal and state returns.
