This class is a multi-media presentation involving the use of real-life case studies, film, and television as examples to aid in the understanding of the concepts being taught. A thorough introduction or refresher on the tools available to and methods employed by investigators working proactive and long-term cases, the course emphasizes racketeering, narcotics trafficking, money laundering, theft/robbery, criminal street gangs, human trafficking, and other organized criminal enterprises.

This course will instruct students how to classify the different causes of death for children and identify the extent of investigation warranted for each, identify and interpret injuries in child abuse homicides, identify agencies involved in investigating child deaths and their respective roles, and explain the process for conducting a complete scene investigation for a child death.

This course is designed to provide training in all topics directly related to legal knowledge or applications, as well as, ethical decision-making. After completing the FFO course, executive officers may attend this 8 hour training to be briefed on civil liability issues surrounding the deployment of their agencies FFO. This course provides an overview of the public finance and budgeting processes used in the allocation of public resources to meet differing public interests. Topics include the political environment, government expenditures, revenues, taxation, budgetary process theories and techniques, and the relation of government finance to the economy. This course combines ALL of the content of ICISF's Assisting Individuals in Crisis & Group Crisis Intervention courses. Crisis Intervention is NOT psychotherapy; rather, it is a specialized acute emergency mental health intervention which requires specialized training. As physical first aid is to surgery, crisis intervention is to psychotherapy. Thus, crisis intervention is sometimes called "emotional first aid". Designed to present the core elements of a comprehensive, systematic and multi-component crisis intervention curriculum, this course will prepare participants to understand a wide range of crisis intervention services for both the individual and for groups. The purpose of this course is to prepare officers to make safe and tactical vehicle assaults on suspects. Students completing this course will understand and be able to demonstrate skills in assault and defensive tactics from inside of a vehicle.

Encounters between first responders and veterans in crisis can be extremely dangerous and event deadly-for the first res ponders or for the veteran in crisis. Oftentimes veterans will only talk to another veteran during a crisis from a sense of commonality. Veteran Crisis Intervention Training teaches military veteran first res ponders, who are also CIT trained, how to effectively and peacefully resolve incidents involving a veteran in crisis. Officers learn to leverage their law enforcement training and their shared military experiences to deescalate the event and prevent violence. Emphasis is placed on connecting veterans with locally available resources designed to improve the health and well-being of the veteran, limiting unnecessary incarceration rates, and establishing a network of officers trained to respond to a veteran in crisis.
