FIP-3556A HazMat OPS
This course is designed to cover initial response objectives to a hazardous materials incident. This block will present the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and ability to satisfy the requirements of OSHA 1910.120 and Chapter 4, 5, 6.2, and 6.6 of NFPA 1072. In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of a hazardous materials response, understanding the hazards, estimating potential harm and planning a response, responder health and safety, characteristics of hazardous materials, transportation of hazardous materials, terrorist incidents, interagency coordination, hazardous material PPE, decontamination methods, monitoring and detection and containment methods.
