Networking and Support (Continuing Education)

Short Term

These courses introduce students to Network concepts as well as competencies and skills that allows students to install, configure, diagnose, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain basic networking on personal computers. Each course prepares students for certification exams.

CompTIA A+ Certification, Core 1 and 2 prepares students to successfully pass the CompTIA A+ 220-1001 Core 1 and 220-1002 Core 2 certification exams.

Intro to Cybersecurity prepares students to demonstrate an understanding of how networks are set up, how devices are configured, how communication takes place on a network, and how to build technical and professional skills to pursue careers in cybersecurity.

Intro to AI and Analytics covers the core elements of AI, including defining artificial intelligence, machine learning, algorithms, and robotics. Topics may also include data mining, management, forecasting, and utilizing data analytics for decision-making.

CTS-3255A CompTIA A+ Certification Core 1 and 2

This course covers competencies and skills that are validated by the CompTIA A+ certification exams, including operating systems, software troubleshooting, hardware, networking, hardware and network troubleshooting, security, mobile devices, virtualization and cloud computing, and operational procedures. Upon completion, students should be able to install, configure, diagnose, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain basic networking on personal computers. In addition, students are prepared to successfully pass the CompTIA A+ 220-1001 Core 1 and 220-1002 Core 2 certification exams.

SEC-3100C Introduction to Cybersecurity

This course introduces a variety of topics to build students skills and provide a broad foundational knowledge of networks and cybersecurity, and how they relates to information security and the Internet. The course introduces networking devices, technology concepts, characteristics of cyber crime, security principles, technologies, and procedures to defend networks. Students will learn how networks are set up, how devices are configured, how communication takes place on a network, and how to build technical and professional skills to pursue careers in cybersecurity.
