Cosmetologists, hairdressers, and hairstylists give people a confidence boast through several beauty services, such as shampooing, cutting, coloring, styling hair, and massaging and treating the scalp. They may apply makeup, dress wigs, perform hair removal, and provide nail and skin care services. Electrologists and laser hair removal specialists are possible career options for those in this field.
Students in the Cosmetology, Esthetician, Manicuring, and Natural Hair Care Continuing Education programs gain intensive training in the areas of hair styling, hair removal, and makeup application. As part of the program, students develop skills during clinic hours in the College’s Cosmetology clinics. After passing the course, students can sit for the North Carolina State Board licensure exams.
