Watch This Space: Library Fest AND National Library Week (and a drawing!)
Next week (April 4-10) is both Durham County Library's Library Fest and National Library Week. How exciting!
Keep reading for more info and drawing info!
Durham Tech is a supporter of Durham Public Library's Library Fest, and our librarian podcaster Courtney Bippley has done interviews with THREE (!) of the featured presenters at Library Fest for Out Loud in the Library: author Tayari Jones, artist Volkan Alkanoglu, and illustrator Gordon C. James.
Keep your eyes (and ears) open for those podcast episodes releasing both this week on Thursday and next Monday and Wednesday!
For a list of events, click the topics at the top of Library Fest's webpage or you can view/download a pdf schedule. Register for as many events as you'd like!
This year's National Library Week theme is "Welcome to your Library" and we'll be highlighting our staff, collections, and resources on the blog and social media throughout the week.
Check in on Tuesday to meet your librarians and library staff, including our awesome work study students, and be sure to check back on Friday to see why you love your library!
Speaking of which: We'll also be doing a drawing! With library swag prizes!
Fill out our form by 5:00 on Wednesday, April 7 letting us know why you love your Durham Tech Library (or like us-- honestly, we know love is a strong feeling) and four faculty/staff and four students each will be eligible to be entered in a drawing to win a cork-bottom coffee mug (complete with lid!) and a mask from our previous Read Great Things Challenge prizes.
Alumni and community friends are welcome to enter, too, but priority for prizes goes to our current students, faculty, and staff. Winners will be contacted on Monday, April 12. Everyone who fills out the form is eligible to get a bookmark.
You're also welcome to let us know how the library has helped you or why you love your Durham Tech Library without entering in the drawing. :)
