American Veteran PBS documentary: You are never the same

Originally celebrated as Armistice Day after World War I, the first official Veteran's Day was in 1954, designated to remember and honor American veterans after large mobilizations of troops during World War II and the Korean War(link is external)

Today, the United States designates November 11 (this year: November 10, observed) as our annual Veteran's Day, harkening back to the armistice of World War I prior to the official Treaty of Versailles.

To learn more about the unique challenges and experiences of United States military veterans, explore American Veteran, available streaming through the Films on Demand database(link is external). (Log in from off-campus using your Durham Tech username and password, the same as for Self-Service or Canvas.) For expanded materials, go to PBS's American Veteran website(link is external), which has some additional digital video shorts and a podcast.

The Durham Tech Library collections also have books on veterans' experiences and military history. Click on the image to go to the catalog record.
