A single International Student in a Durham Tech program can expect to see the expenses listed below

  • One Academic Year (Two Terms from August to May)
  • Spring Term: Classes start in mid-January and Fall Term: Classes start in mid-August

Undergraduate international students on the F-1 visa must take a minimum of 12 credits each term (fall and spring) to maintain their visa status. The more credits you take, the more tuition you will incur. Summer term is optional; however, if you take summer classes, there will be additional expenses for tuition, fees, and books. Some individual classes have course fees, which varies from course to course.

  • The above figures are meant to serve as guidelines and are subject to change. In order to obtain a student visa, you must prove that you will be supported fully for your entire course of study. Payment for each semester is expected in full prior to the payment deadline.
  • On your bill, you will see the detailed costs of tuition, student fees, course fees if any, and other standard expenses.
  • F-1 students enrolled at Durham Tech are recommended to have medical insurance (see information about Student Insurance).
  • Limited on-campus employment opportunities are available. Off-campus opportunities through CPT and OPT will be discussed during the new international student orientation. Please be aware that there are strict restrictions on international student employment in the U.S.
  • Durham Tech is not a residential campus and does not provide on campus housing for students. You must secure your off-campus housing while attend the College.
  • All international applications are processed in a timely fashion. Your application for admission and supporting credentials should be submitted as early as possible to allow us sufficient time to process your application and for you to obtain your visa and arrange for travel to the U.S.
  • All new students, including international students, are required to arrive one week before each term starts to participate in the mandatory New International Student Orientation. The Office International Student Services (ISS) conducts the new international student orientation every spring and fall terms.
