Associate Degree Nursing Program Information

University Transfer

General education and science courses taken at Durham Tech can transfer to a university. University bachelor of science programs grant students credit for having earned their RN degree. Nursing courses taken at Durham Tech are not transferred on a one-to-one basis. Mobility/articulation plans are available for Durham Tech's ADN graduates.

Clinicals

The classroom portion of the program is taught during the day. Clinical experiences are usually scheduled during the day for six- and eight-hour shifts. However, because of the availability of clinical units, it may be necessary for you to attend clinical experiences in the evening or on weekends or work a 12-hour shift.

Merit based scholarships

The College Foundation of North Carolina offers merit based scholarships for nursing students. The Nurse Education Scholarship and loan program is for nursing students only. Nursing students may also be eligible for Health, Science, and Mathematics Scholarships. Students must apply directly to SEAA for consideration. View more information on the Nurse Education Scholarship-Loan Program (NESLP)(link is external) website.

Licensing Information

Information about licensing in North Carolina can be found at NursingLicensure.org(link is external).

Student Achievement Outcome Data

The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing requires that student achievement outcome data in licensure exam passing rates, student completion rates, and percentage of graduates obtaining a job are made publicly accessible. The expected level of achievement identifies the programs goal for each outcome.
