New Student Orientation FAQ
- What should I bring to my New Student Orientation?
You should bring your Durham Tech student ID number and password(s) if you have already set up your Student Email and/or Self-Service accounts. Also bring pen and paper to take notes.
- When do New Student Orientations begin?
New Student Orientations begin promptly at the start time noted. If you are unable to attend the entire session, have to leave early, or arrive late, you may sign up to attend another session. Please select a day and time that will allow you to attend the entire session.
- Can I bring a guest with me?
Seating is limited and reserved for new students attending New Student Orientations. Guests may wait in the College Café (Main Campus) and Welcome Desk area.
- Where do I go for my New Student Orientation?
New Student Orientations on Main Campus will take place in the Wynn Center (Building 10), room 301. Check in at the Orange County Campus Lobby for the room location. You can also attend Great Start Day to participate in an orientation experience.
- Are accommodations provided at New Student Orientations for students with special needs?
If you are an individual with a disability and need an accommodation(s) for the New Student Orientation, contact Accessibility Services at 919-536-7200 ext. 1105. Please give staff at least two weeks notice prior to the session you are registered to attend to process your accommodation request.
- I am exempt from the New Student Orientation. What is my next step?
Students who do not attend a New Student Orientation may make alternate arrangements to complete academic advising prior to registration. Visit the Advising section for more information about advising options.
