Participation and Submission Guidelines
2025 Student Art Exhibition: April 14-May 8, Main Campus Library (Bldg. 5) & Jaynes Art Gallery (Bldg. 10).
Opening Reception: Jaynes Gallery, April 15, 4-6pm.
Participation in the 2025 Student Art Exhibition is open to any currently enrolled Durham Tech student.
The 2025 exhibition will be juried by members of the Viva the Arts on Campus Committee and an AFA alumni guest juror.
Artwork Guidelines
1. Original 2D and 3D work created solely by the submitting artist will be accepted. Examples of media include: painting, drawing, sculpture, assemblage, photography, printmaking, digital art, graphic design, etc.
2. Work completed as part of an art or trades class at Durham Tech or work completed while enrolled in any class at Durham Tech will be accepted.
3. Artists may submit multiple pieces.
4. Maximum allowable size without prior approval: 36" x 48"
5. All 2D work must be exhibition ready (framed, matted, or ready to hang) and professionally presented. Please contact us if you need assistance.
Artwork Drop Off Locations
Newton Building (Bldg. 4), room 124 or 118: Mon.-Thurs. 9am-5pm.
Main Campus Library, ERC (Bldg. 5): Mon.-Thurs. 8am-6pm, Fri. 8am-4.30pm.
Awards
The awards portion of the Student Art Exhibition seeks to recognize emerging student artists.
Awards will be announced at the 25th Anniversary Viva the Arts Celebration on April 23, 2025.
1st Place Award: $500
2nd Place Award: $300
3rd Place Award:$200
People's Choice Award: $200

If the work doesn't have a title, please type "Untitled" in this field. If the work is a master copy, please include the title and artist of the original work in your title. For example: "After Van Gogh's Starry Night."
