Classroom instruction includes the fundamentals of alternating and direct current; residential, commercial, and industrial installation and maintenance; the National Electrical Code; AC and DC motors; transformers; electrical control circuit diagrams; programmable logic controllers; and process control instrumentation. Additional classes include architectural drafting, English, math, and health. Students completing the Electrical/ Electronics Technology program earn either an Associate in Applied Science degree completed in five semesters or a diploma. The day diploma program may be completed in three semesters or the evening program in five semesters. Certificate options are available for training in specific work needs. Students may complete certificates in Construction Electrician, Control Electrician, and Maintenance Electrician. The certificate options may be completed in the evening.
