Thank you for selecting Durham Tech as your educational choice! Scholarships
are competitive and limited in number. Please read this page carefully
and apply for up to a maximum of three of
the scholarships outlined below.
Applicants must be legal, in-state residents who have been formally
accepted into a program of study and have completed all
required developmental courses unless otherwise noted. All scholarships
listed are contingent upon availability of funds at the time the Scholarship
Committee meets. Unless otherwise specified in the scholarship guidelines,
recipients will be selected by the Durham Technical Community College
Scholarship Committee. For scholarships awarded over more than one semester,
scholarship recipients must continue to meet all stated selection criteria
each semester in order to receive subsequent disbursements. Any scholarship
recipient who finds it necessary to withdraw from his/her classes must
meet with the Scholarship Coordinator (536-7250) in order to determine
his/her eligibility for any subsequent disbursements.
All applicants will be notified in writing of selections.
All scholarship recipients will be required to attend a Scholarship
Ceremony in April.
All scholarships are competitive. The Committee uses the results of
student applications for Federal Student Aid (Pell Grant) to determine
if a student has demonstrated financial need. Please contact the Financial
Aid Office for further information (536-7209).
Application packets are available in the Financial Aid Office (room
1209, Phail Wynn, Jr. Student Services Center) or may be downloaded.
Please complete the application in its entirety.
The Scholarship Committee will only consider original, completed applications (no facsimiles or copies).
In order to help you select appropriate scholarships to apply for,
please note the following:
- You may apply for up to 3 scholarships.
- Please take the time to interpret the criteria and choose the scholarships
most applicable to your situation and need. Read each scholarship
description carefully.
- Some scholarships are restricted to specific programs of study.
- Some scholarships require additional documentation or application
forms.
- All scholarship applications must
include a recommendation by a faculty member (or program director
where indicated) in your
program of study who has taught you. (Note: Copies of completed faculty recommendation forms will not be accepted.)
Please submit your completed application to the Financial
Aid Office by 5 p.m. on February 20.
