Workplace Spanish Certificate at the Orange County Campus

The purpose of the Workplace Spanish Certificate is to provide health care professionals with the tools they need to improve communication with Spanish-speaking patients and their families. This 17-credit-hour certificate program was established in 2010 in response to the growing number of Spanish-speaking clients in the health care industry.

The program was designed for a broad audience of medical professionals including, nurses, doctors, technicians, and administrative staff. Students will develop listening and oral communication skills using a highly practical methodology. Course material includes highly interactive exercises that focus on applicable and relevant material designed and written for the health care professional. Courses are taught within a cultural context and include projects relevant to health care fields.
