A Guide to Researching Diseases and Disorders in the Durham Tech Library

Medline Plus
Developed by the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health, this site contains high quality information on common diseases and conditions, medical dictionaries, and more. A Spanish version of the website is also available by clicking on a link on the first page.

Mental Health America (formerly the National Mental Health Association)
This site contains fact sheets on mental health topics and information about disorders, treatments, and medications.

National Cancer Institute
This site is a valuable source for a wide variety of cancer-related information. It includes consumer-oriented information on a wide range of topics as well as comprehensive descriptions of the institute’s research programs and clinical trials. The site contains a dictionary of cancer terms and a Spanish version of the website is available by clicking on a link on the first page.
