| The Center for Academic Excellence (CAE), located
in room 1310 in the Phail Wynn,
Jr. Student Services Center, offers students a number of alternatives
to the traditional classroom setting for education and provides academic
support through tutorial services, workshops, and materials.
All of our tutorial services and workshops are free; tuition is charged
for students who register for self-paced Math Special courses. For placement test (ASSET) preparation, visit ACT's
COMPASS web site.
Students enrolled in distance learning courses using Blackboard or
whose on-campus classes use Blackboard as a supplement are eligible
to use the Online Learning Center. These services are intended for those
students who do not have easy access to the regular CAE on main campus. Before you can use the Online Learning Center,
your instructor must complete and send in a referral form for you. If
you have any questions about the OLC, please contact Karen Jackson at 919-536-7232 ext. 2403.
There are several computer
labs on Durham Tech's campus that students can use. All labs offer
Internet access, and lab monitors are on duty to help you with computer
questions. Labs will be closed on Durham Tech holidays.
