| Why Attend a ConnectSession? | |||
Welcome to Durham Tech! Once you have completed all items on the ConnectSession Checklist, you are ready to attend a ConnectSession, Durham Tech's new student orientation. These sessions are required for all students who are attending Durham Tech for the first time.
You must reserve your seat in one of the scheduled orientations. Sign up to attend a ConnectSession below. Remember, all the items on the ConnectSession Checklist must be completed prior to signing up for a ConnectSession. You will need to bring a copy of your placement test scores and/or other important documents such as college transcripts or SAT scores with you to the orientation. Students with 12 or more transferrable college credits are exempt from attending ConnectSessions but are encouraged to attend.
Contact the Advising Center for more information about advising options for students exempt from attending ConnectSessions. The Advising Center is located in the Wynn Center, room 1200 and can be reached at 919-536-7205. |

| How to Schedule a ConnectSession | |||
| Select the campus location that you would like to attend your ConnectSession. | |||
| Select a ConnectSession option. Available ConnectSession dates are designated with an orange box. Select the date to see available ConnectSession times. If a date is not highlighted that means that no ConnectSessions are offered or ConnectSessions have already been filled. | |||
| Use the calendar to see when ConnectSessions are available. Once you have selected a date, click on the available time slot to schedule your ConnectSession seat. | |||
| Fill in the information on the request form including name, ConnectMail address, phone number, student ID number, and answer the questions listed. Once you have completed the information, select “Submit Your Request.” | |||
| After you submit your request you, will see a the confirmation page listing the date and time you selected. This page also includes important reminders, so please read it carefully. A confirmation email will be sent to your ConnectMail account. | |||

| Are accommodations provided at ConnectSessions for students with special needs? | |||

| A student who requires accommodations due to any physical, psychological, or learning disability should request assistance from the Disability Services Coordinator at least two weeks prior to their scheduled ConnectSession. Please call 919-536-7208 to make arrangements to attend a ConnectSession with accommodations. | |||
| How do I meet with an advisor and register for classes? | |||
| You will meet with an academic advisor and register for your first semester courses at the end of the ConnectSession you attend. | |||
| I already attended a ConnectSession and have additional advising questions. Where do I go? | |||
| Visit the Advising Center, in the Wynn Center, room 1200, on the second floor or call 919-536-7205 for more information. | |||
| Important ConnectSession Reminders | |||
ConnectSessions begin promptly at the start time noted. If you are unable to attend the entire ConnectSession, have to leave early, or arrive late, you will need to sign up to attend another ConnectSession. Please select a day and time that will allow you to attend the entire ConnectSession. Double-check the location you have chosen to attend a ConnectSession. Main Campus ConnectSessions will be held at the Main Campus, 1637 Lawson Street, Durham. Orange County Campus ConnectSessions will be held at the Orange County Campus in Hillsborough, 525 College Park Road. Northern Durham Center campus ConnectSessions will be held at the Northern Durham Center campus at 2401 Snowhill Road, Durham. Allow for enough travel time so you won't be late! |
