How do I document that I have met the prerequisites for a course?
Each student should create a file of important papers. In your file, include your placement test scores and any previous college transcripts you might have that would indicate possible transfer credit. Unofficial copies of transcripts are acceptable for advising purposes. It’s essential to bring your own documentation to every advising appointment to ensure you can enroll in appropriate courses.

How do I know if a course is available?

Take time prior to meeting with your advisor to review the Fall Semester 2010 credit schedule of courses using Section Search.

Visiting Students
Visiting students take only a few courses (no more than 18 credit hours total) and want to use these credits to transfer to another college or for personal enrichment without pursuing a college degree, diploma, or certificate program here at Durham Tech.

If this is your first time attending Durham Tech and you have fewer than 12 credit hours of college level course work from another college, you must attend a ConnectSession.  Refer to “New to Durham Tech?” for more information.  If you have 12 credit hours of college level course work or are a returning visiting student, your advising options are listed below.

I am a visiting student. How do I meet with an advisor?

Walk-in advising dates and times are available for visiting students exempt from ConnectSessions and returning visiting students. Advisors will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Advising Center is located in the Wynn Center, room 1200 and can be reached at 919-536-7205.
