(DURHAM, N.C.) – Markets swing through cycles but historically real estate’s value endures. Durham Technical Community College’s Real Estate Program offers a variety of courses through its Corporate and Continuing Education Division. The Real Estate Pre-License course is required to enter the real estate profession. This course covers all the basic skills necessary to become a licensed real estate broker. Some post-licensing courses include: Broker Relationships and Responsibilities, Contracts and Closings, and Selected Topics (commercial real estate brokerage, residential property management, land use control, and other issues.) Durham Tech also has an Evening and Weekend Appraisal Program. For trainee registration, the following courses are required: Residential Market Analysis and Highest and Best Use; Basic Appraisal Principles, Basic Appraisal Procedures, Residential Market Analysis, and the National Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). The New Certified Residential Appraiser courses include Residential Appraiser Site Valuation and Cost Approach; Residential Sales Comparison and Income Approaches; Residential Report Writing and Case Studies; Statistics, Modeling, and Finance; and Advanced Residential Applications and Case Studies.
