(DURHAM, N.C.) – Durham Technical Community College will host area school administrators as well as First Responder personnel at its training session, “Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning for Schools.” The sessions will be held Feb. 11 and 12 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the DTCC Northern Durham Center, Room 205. The training sessions focus on emergency management operations, roles and duties, how to assess potential hazards faced by schools, and how to develop and test an Emergency Operations Plan.
Ron Campbell, Guilford County Emergency Management coordinator with the Department of Emergency Services, will lead the training sessions. Campbell supervises emergency management preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. He serves as the liaison between local government and state and federal officials during large-scale disasters or emergencies.
To drive to the Northern Durham Center, take the Roxboro Street exit from the Durham Freeway (147 North). Travel north on Roxboro Street and turn right onto Old Oxford Highway. Turn left onto Snowhill Road. The Northern Durham Center is located on the right.
