DURHAM -- Durham Technical Community College has announced several administrative changes.

Valarie Evans has been named vice president for student learning, development, and support, and on Aug. 1, Edward Moore became Durham Tech's vice president for finance and administration.

In other administrative changes, Wanda Maggart has moved from senior vice president for institutional and student support services to senior vice president for institutional advancement and Jamie Glass' title was changed to vice president for corporate and continuing education.

Evans comes to Durham Tech from Tidewater Community College in Norfolk, Va., where she served as associate vice president of academic projects. She previously held administrative positions at Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin, Va. Evans holds a bachelor's of science degree in psychology from Norfolk State University, a master's of science in guidance and counseling from Old Dominion University, and a doctorate in community college education from George Mason University.

Moore returned to Durham Tech in July 2008 as first an accounting instructor and later served as an affirmative action officer, chief of student services and planning officer, and business manager/chief facilities officer. Moore retired from Durham Tech after 28 years in August 1999. He then worked for five years with the Durham Housing Authority. Moore holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and an MBA from N.C. Central University.

Maggart has served as special assistant to the president, director of marketing and communications, vice president for institutional support services, and senior vice president for institutional and student support services at Durham Tech. In addition to her role as senior vice president for institutional advancement, she continues to serve as executive director of marketing and communications.

Jamie Glass was vice president of continuing education. She has held administrative positions in the N.C. Army National Guard, Wake Technical Community College and N.C. Community College System Office.
