Part-Time Curriculum Instructors

Fall Semester starts August 17


Adjunct Associate Degree Nursing and Practical Nursing Instructors: Fall/spring semesters; day and evening and/or weekend. Instructor must hold an active license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of North Carolina, have two years of full-time clinical experience, and hold a Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN). Teaching experience in Adult Health and/or Maternal-Newborn Health preferred for both positions.

Adjunct Architectural Technology Instructor: Fall/spring semesters; day, at Orange High School, Hillsborough. Associate’s degree and experience in drafting, construction materials, and basic CAD. Teaching experience is preferred.

Adjunct American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor: Day and evening. Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the subject area required. Teaching experience is preferred.

Adjunct CAD Instructor: Fall semester; Monday evenings. Associate Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or related field and two years of work experience using/working with Solidworks software or five years minimum experience using/working with Solidworks software.

Adjunct Communications Instructor: Spring semester; day and evening. Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the subject area required. Teaching experience is preferred.

Adjunct Developmental English/Reading Instructors: Day and evening. Master’s degree in reading, English, or a related subject area preferred. Experience with teaching an integrated course is also preferred.

Adjunct English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Instructor: A Master’s degree in TESOL is preferred; however, candidates who have a master's degree in a related discipline with at least a 9-hour certificate in TESOL will also be considered for the position.

Adjunct English Instructors: Day and evening. Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the subject area required. Teaching experience is preferred.

Adjunct Health and Wellness Instructor: Fall semester; day. Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the subject area required. Teaching experience is preferred.

Adjunct HVAC Instructor: Fall semester; Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Associate Degree from a regionally accredited institution in HVAC or related field and two years of work experience in the HVAC industry, or five years minimum experience in the HVAC industry.

Adjunct Mathematics Instructors: Day and evening. Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the subject area required. Teaching experience is preferred.

Adjunct Medical Office Administration Instructor: Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related subject with at least 18 hours in a related science for teaching Medical Terminology I. Teaching experience is preferred. Taught on the Orange County Campus, Tuesday and Thursday, 8–9:15 a.m.

Adjunct Spanish Instructor: Day and evening. Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Spanish required. Teaching experience is preferred.

Nursing Assistant Instructor – OCC Curriculum Program

Professional Tutors: Math, English, Reading, and Sciences: Day and evening. Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the subject area required. Tutoring experience is preferred.


Part-Time Continuing Education Instructors

Instructors should have experience teaching and/or training adult students. Some positions require specific experience and/or credentials. Teaching experience in an online/virtual environment is preferred for some positions. All positions are hourly and part-time. See list of open positions.
