| April 4 - 7: Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. Each spring Full Frame welcomes filmmakers and film lovers from around the world to historic downtown Durham, North Carolina for a four-day, morning to midnight array of over 100 films as well as discussions, panels, and southern hospitality. | ||
| April 13-14: Durham Art Walk Spring Market. A fun and unique self-guided tour of urban art galleries, studios, impromptu exhibits, and vibrant businesses of Downtown Durham, featuring the original artwork of over 200 artists. The Durham Art Walk combines visual art, live entertainment and fun activities for the whole family. Rain or shine. Durham Art Walk is presented and produced by the Durham Arts Council. | Thursdays, March 28 - April 25: Yoga, Stretch, and Meditation for Gardeners Did last weekend’s weeding session leave you with an achy lower back? Are your knees creaky and shoulders tense? Join us for restorative yoga and stretching to keep your body as vibrant as your garden. We’ll also do various breathing meditations that you can continue practicing at home. No experience necessary. Please bring a mat, a yoga strap, belt or towel for stretching, and any other props you may like (yoga block, cushion, bolsters, etc.). We will also have some props for students to try out, and a few extra mats. Each participant will complete a waiver form prior to the start of class. Location: Doris Duke Center. Fee for all sessions: $50; Friends rate $40; Drop-in rate per session: $15 as space permits. Pre-registration required. Parking pass included. Register at 919-668-1707. |

| Saturday, May 18: Traditional Japanese Tea Gathering: Boy's Day Tea Enjoy the richness of the Japanese tea tradition without traveling to Japan. While we cannot duplicate a tea gathering in Japan, we can convey the essence and poetry of the experience. uests will be served a bowl of whisked green tea and a Japanese confection. Please meet at the Doris Duke Center to be escorted to the tea house for these intimate gatherings. On Saturdays, children age 6 and older are welcome at the family rate, with an accompanying adult. Cost $40; Gardens members $30; Family rate $40. Tours run twice daily: 10:45 a.m.-noon and 1-2:15 p.m. Pre-registration required. Parking pass included. Register at 919-668-1707. |

| June/July8: American Dance Festival Performance Season. The largest and most influential modern dance festival in the world, featuring more than two dozen modern dance companies and hundreds of choreographers, writers and students participating in classes, seminars, and performances. | Visit the Wynn Center Lobby on Durham Tech's main campus to learn about Durham's rich history with regard to the civil rights movement. Durham Tech is hosting the Durham Civil Rights Heritage Project beginning today through mid-October. This public art project features eleven, 6' fabric banners incorporating photographs, quotes from interviews with local people, and text to depict some of the history of the Civil Rights Movement in Durham.
